Realism comes from the Latin "realis", which means factual and real. It originated in the second half of the 19th century. Realism is a never-ending art and one of the artistic directions that captures a detailed representation of the object as we see it. Josef Mánes was the most famous realist in the Czech Republic. He was a painter, draftsman, illustrator and graphic artist who created romantic realism. He is considered a master of Czech painting and landscaping in the period of Romanticism and Realism.
